Green Festivities is the popular name of the cycle of Slavic holidays of pagan origin, which covers a few days before the Pentecost and the first days of the Pentecost week. The Green festivities mark the end of spring and the beginning of summer, combining the honoring of the dead and vegetation in order to ensure a good harvest.

Leading a Bush is a pre-Christian spring-summer ritual from the West Polissia region of Ukraine. The custom of gifting the bush by each family is perceived as a sacrifice to ancestors.
